A note on fairness. We make Coworking OS. Other products are described only in general terms from their public pages, and their pricing and features change. Check each vendor's site before deciding.
Why global software does not always fit an Indian space
The best-known coworking platforms, such as Nexudus, OfficeRnD, Optix, Cobot and Spacebring, are good products. They are built for operators in many countries, so their defaults reflect that: pricing in US dollars, pounds or euros, global payment providers, email as the main channel and invoice formats designed to suit many tax systems.
An Indian operator's month looks different. Members pay by UPI. They read WhatsApp before email. Invoices need a GSTIN and a place of supply that a CA will accept. Cabins run on leave-and-licence agreements with deposits and notice periods. None of this is exotic, but if a tool handles it through workarounds, those workarounds repeat every month.
What an Indian operator actually needs
| Need | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Rupee pricing | Predictable cost that does not move with the exchange rate |
| UPI and Indian gateways | Members pay in one tap; payments matched to the invoice |
| WhatsApp from your own number | Reminders and receipts members recognise and answer |
| Invoices with GSTIN, SAC and place of supply | Your CA accepts them without rework; members claim credit |
| Invoice series per centre | Clean numbering when you run more than one building |
| Leave-and-licence e-sign | Agreements signed without paper, deposits and notice tracked |
| TDS and Form 16A tracking | Corporate members deduct TDS; certificates need chasing |
| Tally or Zoho Books export | Your CA works in one of these already |
| Support that answers quickly | Rent day problems cannot wait for a ticket queue |
Your options
Coworking OS. Built in Hyderabad by the operator of Spellbound Coworking and used there every day. Pay Now links through Razorpay, Cashfree or Zoho Payments, a UPI QR on every invoice with "I've paid" and a confirm queue, WhatsApp reminders and an inbox on your own number, invoices with your GSTIN, SAC and place of supply and a series per centre, e-signed leave-and-licence agreements, room and desk bookings, Centres for several buildings, and an accountant kit with TDS, Form 16A, month lock and Tally Prime or Zoho Books export. Priced in rupees with every feature in every plan. It bills in rupees only. Door-lock integration and a white-label member app are available on request. Web app live · Android in Google Play testing · iPhone awaiting Apple review.
Global platforms. Nexudus and OfficeRnD are broad, mature and built for multi-location and multi-country operators, with large integration catalogues. Optix and Spacebring lead with branded member apps and bookings. Cobot is a straightforward, long-running tool popular with independent spaces. All are generally priced in foreign currency; check each site for current pricing and for Indian gateway, WhatsApp and GST invoice support. Our side-by-side pages cover each: vs Nexudus, vs OfficeRnD, vs Optix, vs Cobot and vs Spacebring. For the two most common searches, see Nexudus alternatives and OfficeRnD alternatives.
Zoho plus spreadsheets. Rupee-priced and solid on GST invoices, with members in a spreadsheet, rooms in a shared calendar and reminders by hand. Cheap in cash, expensive in hours once you pass about 15 members. See software vs Excel and WhatsApp.

How to evaluate any tool in one demo
Ask the vendor to run one real month with you, using your own numbers:
- Create a cabin member with a GSTIN, a deposit and a notice period.
- Draft and e-sign their leave-and-licence agreement.
- Raise the month's invoice and check it carries your GSTIN, SAC and place of supply.
- Send a WhatsApp reminder from your business number.
- Pay it by UPI and watch it get matched and receipted.
- Record a part payment with TDS deducted, and see the balance carry forward.
- Book a meeting room as a member using free hours, then as a walk-in paying online.
- Export the month for your CA.
Whichever tool passes all eight without a workaround is the one to shortlist.
When a global platform is the better choice
Choose a global platform if you operate in several countries, bill in several currencies, or need printing integrations. These are real strengths, and Coworking OS does not offer them.
Pricing for Coworking OS
Every feature is in every plan. Starter ₹1,999 a month for 30 active members and 1 centre, Growth ₹3,999 for 80 and 1 centre, Scale ₹7,999 for 200 and 2 centres, and Pro ₹13,999 for 400 and 3 centres, all plus GST. Start a 30-day free trial with no card at app.coworkingos.in/signup.
Switching safely
Every tool above can export members and invoices to Excel or CSV. Import that file into Coworking OS during the trial, with 24 hours to undo, set up your centres, GSTIN, gateway and WhatsApp, and run one billing month in parallel before you switch. Your data exports at any time if you leave.
Is there coworking software made in India?
Yes. Coworking OS is built in Hyderabad and used every day at Spellbound Coworking. Zoho is also an Indian company, though Zoho Books is general accounting software rather than a coworking tool.
Does Coworking OS split CGST, SGST and IGST on invoices?
Invoices carry your GSTIN, the SAC and the place of supply. Confirm the tax treatment with your CA and set up your invoices to match.
Which option suits a space with 40 members?
Most spaces of that size in India want rupee pricing, UPI, WhatsApp and GST invoices handled without workarounds. Growth, at ₹3,999 a month plus GST for up to 80 members, covers that with every feature.
